Tomorrow, Wednesday, March 17, the cast of MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET will celebrate St. Patrick's Day with a live performance of three songs from the new Broadway musical.

MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET, a new musical, will begin preview performances this Saturday, March 13th at 8PM at Broadway's Nederlander Theatre (208 West 41st Street) with an official opening of Sunday, April 11.

Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash and Carl Perkins have not only left the building after 15 months in Chicago, but they've been replaced.
And they have assumed the roles of those rock 'n' roll masters so memorably captured in a group photo taken when they unexpectedly came together one afternoon in 1956 at producer Sam Phillips' Sun Records studio in Memphis, Tenn.
The overall chemistry of this new quartet is not yet quite as sharp and edgy as it was with the initial cast.

Imagine that – a Broadway show called "Million Dollar Quartet" was created with THIS classic photograph as inspiration.
An impromptu recording session in 1956 in Memphis engineered by producer Sam Phillips of Sun Records , kicked off the careers of Jerry Lee Lewis , Carl Perkins, Elvis Presley , and Johnny Cash .
The show, featuring great rockabilly songs from that era, ran for a year in Chicago and is set to open in New York this month.

On the morning of 3 March, 1960, after a flight from Germany broken by a refuelling stop at Prestwick Airport, 30 miles south of Glasgow (the only time he set foot in Britain), the DC7 jetliner carrying Elvis Presley landed at McGuire Air Force Base, New Jersey, amid the remnants of a light blizzard.

Jerry Lee Lewis is a native of Ferriday, Louisiana and is best known for such classic hits as "Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On," "Great Balls of Fire," and "Breathless," just to name a few.
Lewis is considered to be an "early pioneer of rock" and in 2004 Rolling Stone Magazine ranked him 24th on their list of top 100 artists of all time.
Lewis was inducted into the Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame in 1986 and was also inducted into the Rockabilly Hall of Fame as well.
